About the Event
Have you ever wondered how Toronto Humane Society helps animals that come into our care injured and in-need of physical rehabilitation? Christina Giordmaina, Registered Veterinary Technician, supports these animals by providing a custom rehab plan that gives them a second lease on life. In this presentation you will learn about the kinds of rehab cases we’ve experienced and how we provided specialized care. Topics that will be discussed range from goal setting and treatment plans, to rehab assessments and therapies, to modalities, exercises, and real-life examples too!

About Your Speaker

Christina Giordmaina
RVT, CCRP



Christina has been a Registered Veterinary Technician at Toronto Humane Society since 2015. She works closely with animals that require physical rehabilitation to improve their mobility, function, and quality of life.


After completing a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University, Christina's career path changed when she discovered the field of veterinary physical rehabilitation. Her lifelong love of animals led her to attend the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College before becoming a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee.

Her special areas of interest include community outreach, companion animal pain management, and veterinary orthotic and prosthetic devices.

Christina is also a Fear Free Certified Professional, committed to advocating for those most vulnerable patients and helping them reach their potential as they search for their forever homes.
